Asheville ~ Graden H. Souther, 65, of Rosscraggon Drive, died Thursday, November 2, 2000 in a local hospital.

Mr. Souther was born November 30, 1934 in Henderson County and was the son of the late Marion and French Garren Souther of Henderson County. He was a 1953 graduate of Fletcher High School. In 1998, Mr. Souther retired with 28 years of service with Roadway Express, Inc. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Vaughn.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tony Ann ''Terry'' Thomas Souther of Asheville, two daughters, Marsha S. Robinson and son-in-law, Jerald B. (Boo) Robinson of Belmont, Sabrina Souther of Arden, two sisters, Hattie S. Owen and Eula S. Jaggers of Hendersonville, and two grandchildren, Gage and Abe Robinson of Belmont.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.

Interment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. Rev. Lawrence Rhodes will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 3 from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.
