  2. I am so sad to read this. Grover and I worked together for 7 years at the Asheville Police Department. He was a very good friend and so thoughtful.
We were talking one day and cooking came up in the conversation. I mentioned I had an element out in my oven so no baking was being done. He had asked me what type stove I had and a few days later he showed up with an element. That’s friendship and caring. I was so surprised and thankful. Had bills to pay and putting off buying one. I will be praying for all his family.

  3. Prayers and sympathy. It has been many years since I have seen Grover but will always remember him. May God give the family strength and peace,

  8. Grover lived near me in Tenn. He would come by our home home in Tenn. often, especially during the summer. We would sit on the deck and talk about old times.

  10. Sorry to hear of Grover’s passing i worked with him while i was at APD he was good officer and a kind friend he will be missed prayers and condleances to his family

  11. My sincere condolences to Grover’s family. I worked with him in the early 70’s when he was a patrolman, with the APD, and I was a Magistrate in Buncombe County. He was a model police officer and it was a pleasure serving the Asheville community with him. His courtesy and professionalism, as a law enforcement officer, was one of his strong traits and earned the resect of all that worked with him.
May God show his grace upon each of you during this time. I know he will be missed by many.

  12. Today I say Goodbye to my father in law and my friend. Grover, you’ve had a tremendous impact on my life, and I feel blessed to have known you, even for just a short period. We’re shared many laughs, stories, and time together on the front porch in Tennessee. To say you will be missed, wouldnt even begin to convey how much I’m gonna miss seeing you. Rest High on that mountain.

  13. Grover was a good friend to me. He was always supportive of me. From the first, when I was a rookie police officer, he would ‘back me up’ to keep me from getting hurt, and till the last; I always knew Grover had my back covered. I don’t think he was scared of anything. When Grover was a patrolman and he would back me up on a call, I knew everything would turn out alright. Later he became a detective, and he did that job well. He was one of the best. It was a job I couldn’t do. He said I taught him how to shoot. He talked to me often, even after I left the city. I will miss him.

  14. I worked with Grover for many years at the Asheville Police Department. Grover was a great detective and took pride in every thing he did. He had a great sense of humor and always put his work at the forfront of everything he did. I am sorry to hear of his passing but even more sorry I could not make It to his services. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace my friend.

  15. I worked with Grover on patrol and in investigations at APD. He was a hard worker who always did his best. After he moved to Tennessee, I woiild hear from him occasionally, but I lost contact with him a few years back. He was a good man and I was sorry to learn of his passing. Wishing peace and comfort for Grover’s family during this difficult time.
