Grover Franklin Gaddis, 73, died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at his home in Asheville.
A native of Jackson County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett and Essie Dean Gaddis and by a granddaughter, Heather Augusta Gaddis.
Mr. Gaddis was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for 38 years as an electrician for M.B. Haynes. He was a hard working man and he loved his job and the people he worked with.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Peggy Smoot Gaddis; daughters, Ingrid Swayngim and Nylora Gaddis; sons, Grover Gaddis, Jr., Johnny Gaddis (Ame) and Phillip Dean Gaddis (Sheenna); grandchildren, Brandon Swayngim, Sheena Swayngim and fiancé Michael Hagan, Johnathan Gaddis, Ky-Lee Barnes, and Jeremy and Justin Dean; sister, Mary Beasley, and brothers, Floyd Gaddis (Joyce) and Dewey Gaddis (Ellen).
A memorial service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating.

Peggy my prayers are with you and your family at this time. I always new Grover as Frank. He was a great man that I had great respect for. He worked hard and provided for his family. I remember him as a kind gently quite man who spoke little and smiled every time I seen him.. I may not be with you but I will be there in spirit. May you be blessed in you time of grief. I love you.
