Gwendolyn Marie Marshbanks, 83, of Trinity, North Carolina went home to meet the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward Shipman and Christine Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Gene Marshbanks, two brothers, Charles Shipman and Bobby Shipman, and a sister, Peggy Souther.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Dawn Reynolds (Rev. Todd Reynolds) and one grandson Andrew Todd Reynolds.

She was born in and resided in Buncombe County most of her life and was a homemaker.

A graveside service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery on Saturday, February 27th at 11:00 am.

The Rev. Todd Reynolds (son-in-law) will officiate.

Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.

  3. I have so many precious memories of Gwen all the way back to when I was a toddler (we could get into some mischief). She and Gene were always so good to me and my family. They both embraced the theory “It takes a village to raise a child”. They were very supportive of me throughout my life and my husband, and daughter were lucky enough to benefit from their love as well. I will miss our shopping excursions, lunch and long telephone conversations. I respected and admired her immensely. Although we will miss her I am thankful she is no longer in pain and is with our heavenly father and family (my Mother is thrilled). Michelle, Todd and Andrew I love you!!!

  9. I have known Gwen since my brother married her sister Peggy. She was a precious person I have fond memories of our beach trips and just spending time together. We had chatted a few times in recent years and I know she was a Godly woman and is safe in the arms of Jesus. Prayers for the family
