Guestbook

  1. I’m an old friend of David’s from A.B. Tech days. I saw him at Diamond Brand Outdoors (where I work) a few weeks ago and figured he wouldn’t be with us much longer from what he told me. I couldn’t believe his incredible upbeat attitude though. I’ll miss him.

  2. While I did not personal know David, I feel as though I did due to may personal relationship with his brother and sister-in-law Carol & Sara Miller. Carol & I have traveled to various parts of the world together, and in those many nights far from home we would discuss family and friends. Carol has a great love and respect for his late brother. David sounded like such a nice and interesting person from Carol’s stories and I regret that I will never be able to meet him. My deepest sympathy to the entire Miller Family.

  3. I was introduced to Dave in the fall of 1989 by a mutual friend. As the result we spent many fine hours fishing his beloved Lake Jocassee. Our friendship grew to include the shooting sports and we spent many pleasurable hours on the range as well as in my reloading room.
A man of many talents, Dave became my mentor in the kitchen and to him I owe the credit of my culinary skills. He was an excellent teacher.
During a very tough five month period of my life in 1993, Dave was a daily visitor in my home. He was a strong shoulder to lean on and his presence made our lives better.
He took all his troubles ‘in stride’ and by doing so set an incredably high standard for us to follow. He will be missed by my entire family. He was considered part of our family.
Our condolences go out to his family.
    We are diminished.

  4. I was between Carol and David in school, and was so happy that I was able to see both Carol and David at our recent HS Reunion of classes of 54, 55, and 56. Someone told me when I lost my father not to grieve that he was gone, but to rejoice that he was. It was the only thing that made any sense to me. My thoughts are with David and Carol’s family during this difficult time. With sympathy.

  5. well, we have known miller for seems like forever. dave came to our family eatings for a long time I FIRST MET HAIRY DOG ON LAKE JOCASSEE. FROM THERE WE SPENT MANY HOURS ON THAT LAKE. WE WOULD GO UP IN THE WOODS& COOK HOT DOGS ON A STICK. WE SHOT A FEW ROUNDS AT THE RANGE. WE DID ALOT OF THINGS TOGETHER. FOR THE LAST YEAR I WOULD CALL DOG EVERY EVENING TO GET HIM UP TO EAT. HE WAS VERY TIRED AFTER DIALYSIS. I CAME HOME LOTS OF TIMES, THERE WOULD BE MILLER YAKING WITH MY WIFE, GEORGIA. SHE WAS HIS ‘GIRLFRIEND’. WE WILL ALL MISS DAVE. HE WAS LIKE MY OTHER DAD.
    LOVE U DOG
    BRUCIE

  6. I first met Miller a few months ago when he and Bruce Burrell took me fishing on Lake Jocassee. I caught my first Trout that day. I will never forget that day. I only new him for a short time, But what little time i spent with Miller was memorable. I learned alot in a short amount of time from him. He will be missed.
