Funeral services for Harley Shuler, age 100, will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 28, in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home.  The Revs. Greg Warren and Claude Surrett will officiate and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Shuler was a carpenter and helped build the Enka plant and the houses of Enka Village.  During WW II he worked at the Newport News Naval Shipyard and also helpd build housing at Fort Bragg.  He help establish Glady Missionary Baptist Church and Maple Ridge  Missionary Baptist Church.His wife, Lelia J. Shuler, died in 1996.
He is survived by a daughter, Grace Matthews, three sons, Lewis, James, and Leonard Shuler;  9 gc, 14 ggc, and 9 gggc..
