Harold Beck, 93, of Arden, passed away May 17, 2017 at the John F. Keever Jr. Hospice Solace Center. A native of Sturtevant, WI, he was the son of the late Hjalmer and Frances Therkelsen Beck. Harold was a true craftsman. He retired from construction in 1982 when he returned to the Asheville area. He loved wood working, artistry and learned to play the organ later in life. Above all, he loved his family, especially his adoring wife of 73 years, Nan Jean, who was his everything. He will be missed, but his family is so grateful that he is with his Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loved so much. In addition to his wife, Nan Jean, Harold is survived by one daughter, Sherry B. Guestbook

  1. Dear Sherry and Terry: My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Dad. My Dad was also in the Army Air Corps in World War II. So, I would say we came from good stock. Our Dads were Greatest Generation. Once again, my deepest sympathy. Gerry Huntley. Class of ’65, Reynolds High School.

  2. My deepest sympathies to the Beck family. I’m so very sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in the Bibles’ promise of a resurrection, as it means a hope of being reunited with your dear loved ones. (John 5:28,29) If you want to know more, feel free to go to http://www.jw.org.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. To lose a parent is always difficult but to have the blessed assurance he is in heaven and eventually you will see him again is such a comfort. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of sorrow.

  4. Many fond memories of Harold will stay with me for the rest of my life. I admired and respected Harold very much and his life was well lived. We send our sincere sympathy from Wisconsin to Nan and the family.

  5. I moved into a home across the street in 2006 from Harold and Nan,and enjoyed their presence daily. When I needed something fixed Harold was always there with a helping hand. The most profound lesson I learned from Harold was that GOD loves us and that if we put our trust in him we will prosper in all we do. To me Harold was one of the riches men I have ever knew.
