HAROLD EDWIN TREXLER Harold Edwin Trexler, 91, of Asheville, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 3, 2005. A lifetime resident of Asheville, he was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Lewis “Ed” Trexler and Bessie McFee Trexler; his beloved wife, Nyles H. Trexler; his son, Howard E. Trexler; his twin brother, Howard Edward Trexler; four other brothers, Charles Lewis “Buck” Trexler, Ernest M. Trexler, Roby Wilson Trexler and Arthur Kenneth “Ted” Trexler; three sisters, Legie Trexler McPherson, Nell Trexler Morisette and Betty Trexler McCall and a granddaughter, Katherine Trexler. Mr. Trexler worked for Skyland Distributing for many years before his retiring at the age of 84. He lived a long, full life and was most proud of his family. He was “Papaw” to all who knew him, was much loved and will be sorely missed. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Trexler Brookshire and her companion Finley Foster; a granddaughter, Brenda A. Fryar and her husband Michael; two grandsons, Charles Trexler and David Trexler; a brother, Jack Trexler; two sisters, Mary Trexler Wilson and Roselyn Trexler Davis; four great-granddaughters, Melissa D. Fryar, Christy M. Fryar, Chloe Trexler and Katie Trexler and one great-great-grandson, Ian D. Fryar. Graveside services will be 4:00 pm Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Reverend Claude Surrett officiating. His family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 pm Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. They would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Magnolia Healthcare, as well as Dr. Il Sung Lee, for all their kindness and care.
