Harold James Pace, 73, of 38 Huntington Drive, Swannanoa, died Sunday, November 28, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Buncombe County he was the son of the late Glenn and Elsia Hoots Pace. He was an Army veteran and was retired from Beacon Manufacturing Co. He was a member of East Black Mountain Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Edith Stowe Pace; one daughter Betty Jean King of Asheville; one son Greg Pace of Swannanoa; two granddaughters Destinie King and Kristen Pace; and one brother Vernon Pace of Asheville. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Ballard officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
