Harold Marvin Morgan, 66, of 51 Robinson Cove Road, Candler, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Howard G. and Janie Young Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Candler High School and attended North Carolina State University. He was the Southeastern Regional Manager for A&P, later with Western Supermarkets in Alabama and most recently with Ingles. His hobby was growing and showing dahlias and was an award winning member of the American Dahlia Society. Mr. Morgan is survived by a daughter, Margie Mayhew of Birmingham, AL; a son, Loren Howard Morgan of Arden; a sister, Barbara Morgan Quedens of Niceville, FL; three grandchildren, Caitlyn, Kylie and Drennon Mayhew; a nephew, William M. Treadway of Atlanta; a niece, Judy T. Barranco of Montgomery, AL and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Hice Hill Cemetery at a later date. His family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
