  1. Karen, we are so sorry to hear about your dad. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know if you guys need anything.

  2. Uncle Rich was very special to us growing up and I always enjoyed our conversations. Him and dad had a very special brother bond. He was also a great friend to Stan’s dad Tom Schreiber. He will be missed.

  3. Love to all! Aunt Iva Lee and Karen, Lana, and Richard Jr(Dickie)- he was always a polite man and could talk some sports. I remember him for his laugh, calling me Sherry Pie, and his pipe. I loved to smell it as he sat at Mamaw and Papaws on the porch. I loved to see you all coming on Sunday’s. He is at rest and has joined His Lord and Savior! Peace and comfort and prayers

  4. Dear Iva Lee, Karen, Lana and Dickie, I am saddened for each of you to hear of your loss. May you find peace and comfort knowing others care for you. It’s been years since I’ve seen any of you but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
My brother, Tommy with ‘Elingburg’, that’s what he called him, at Enka/BASA for many years .And my daughter Tracie went to school with Dickie.

  5. So very sorry for your loss. Julie and I were very sad to hear of Mr. Elingburg’s passing and send love to all of you. He was a kind man and will be greatly missed. Much love!

  6. So sad to hear of your loss of your husband, father and grandchildren. Richard was always a happy and friendly person. I know he was loved very much by all his family and friends. May God be with all of his family, during a very sad time. Love to all. Pat Allen Duncan

  7. I am so sorry for the passing of Richard Sr. While I never met the man, I worked with Richard Jr. many years ago. I remember the things that Richard Jr. told about his dad. He was proud of his family.

2017 has been a year of many people passing away. My mother was buried Mother’s Day weekend and my mother-in-law died in September.

I am on an extended trip to my other house in Wisconsin now and won’t return to NC til January 5. I would attend the funeral and meet the family, if I could.

    Prayers and hugs.

  8. I’m so sorry to hear you lost your father. Karen you and Dennis
are in my prayers. May God bless you and your family in this time of loss. God is always there for us.

  9. Karen, sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I know you will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  10. Iva Lee, We want to wish you and your family our deepest sympathy. We thought a lot of Richard and considered him a good friend.

  11. Iva Lee, Karen, Lana, and Dickie: I am so sorry for your loss, but I know you have peace that Richard is finally free from the physical struggle he has endured for quite some time. Even better than that is the knowledge that his trust and hope in Jesus Christ did not disappoint, but instead brought complete joy and peace as promised. He is in the presence of the Lord.
I’m like Sherry in the fact that I remember the smell of the smoke from Richard’s pipe on MaMaw and Papaw’s front porch. He always loved to tease all of the kids and had nicknames for several of us. A lot of great memories.
May God be with all of you every step of the way. I love you.

  12. Please accept my condolences. May you find comfort in the fond memories of your loved family member. The Bible also offers words of comfort during times of bereavement. 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 states ‘God will comfort us in all our trials.’?
