Harry Allen Thompson, 85, of The Hills at Avery’s Creek, died Friday, December 1, in a Henderson County Hospital.

A native of DuBois, Pennsylvania, he retired as president of Kennedy and Ely Insurance Agency. Mr. Thompson was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Maida Hollett Thompson; one daughter, Marilyn Bledsoe of Rolla, Missouri; one sister, Betty Boynton of Largo, Florida; three grandsons, Eric Bledsoe and his wife Robin of Cookeville, Tenn., Scott Bledsoe and his wife Sarah of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Sean Bledsoe and his wife Cindy of Ft. Myers and one great-granddaughter, Corri Peck of Ft. Myers.

Memorial services will be held 1:30pm Sunday in the Lake Julian chapel of Groce Funeral Home with a minister from Arden Presbyterian Church officiating.

Surviving are his wife, Maida Hollett Thompson; one daughter, Marilyn Bledsoe of Rolla, MO; one sister, Betty Boynton of Largo, FL; three grandsons, Eric Bledsoe and his wife Robin of Cookeville, TN, Scott Bledsoe and his wife Sarah of Ft. Myers, FL, and Sean Bledsoe and his wife Cindy of Ft. Myers; and one great-granddaughter, Corri Peck of Ft. Myers.

A memorial service will be at 10:00 am Monday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian.
