Hazel Hipps Lipe, 65, of 599 North Louisiana Avenue, Asheville, died Saturday, December 17, 2005, at Duke Hospital. Mrs. Lipe was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late James D. and Rosalee Rice Hipps. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Hipps. Surviving are her husband, Jack Eugene Lipe; two daughters, Darlene McHone and Angela York and her husband, Phillip; four sons, Michael, James, Lawrence, and Sonny Lipe; two sisters, Barbara Hipps and Rose Marie Hipps; three brothers, her twin, Hershel Hipps, Denny Hipps and J.D. Hipps; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, and at other times will be at the home of Angela York, 8 Vinewood Circle.

  2. Jack And Family I Am So Sorry For Your Loss. Hazel Was A Very Sweet Aunt To Me. I Remember When Daddy Was Put On Oxygen She Gave Him Money Told Him He Could Buy Him A Tank Of Oxygen And Whenever He Was In The Hospital She Was Always There For Him.She Was A Compassionate, Loving Lady And Will Be Missed Very Much. God Bless
