Hazel King Seastrunk, 69, of 151 Barnard Avenue, Asheville, died Monday, January 13, 2003, in an Asheville hospital. Mrs. Seastrunk was born in Buncombe County to the late Roy D. King. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Banks. She was retired from First Citizens Bank and was a member of North Asheville Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cliff Seastrunk, Jr.; a daughter, Debra Seastrunk Sprinkle of Asheville; two sons, Cliff L. Seastrunk, III of Raleigh and Eric Seastrunk of Daytona Beach, FL; her mother, Thelma Hensley of Asheville; three sisters, Louise Branson of Asheville, Lois Kelly of Gretna, LA, and Judy Ballard of Fletcher; three brothers Roy King of Weaverville, Earl King of Asheville and Richard King of Johnson City, TN; five grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Dykes and Tom Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Pat and I were very sorry to hear about you mother. My mother died several years ago and Pat’s mother died less than two years ago. We both miss them a great deal, but like you we have many great memories of them. It is particularly difficult to lose someone at such an early age.

    Pat and I are still in Germany but we will be returning late tomorrow.
    Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help you during this very traumatic time.
