Hazel Miller Woody

Hazel Miller Woody, 64, of 137 Goughes Branch Rd., Leicester, died Tuesday, August 1, 2000 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Belle Baker Miller. She was also preceded in death by a brother Elmer Miller. She was a former employee of Square D with 15 years of service and later retired from Leicester Reality. She was a member of Bell United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dennis V. Woody; a daughter, Gayna Edmonds and her husband Gary; a son Michael Woody and his wife Traci all of Leicester; a sister, Marie Webb of Mars Hill; three grandchildren, Kindall and Katelyn Edmonds of Leicester, Jennifer Haynes of Waynesville; nine nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Revs. Steve Robinson and Fred Carpenter will officiate with burial following in Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry, Mike, Mark, Bob, and Larry Webb, Willie, Mac and Gene Devore and Chris Rollins. Her family will receive friends 7-9:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home, and at other times will be at the home on Goughes Branch Road.
