Fletcher - Hazel Whitaker Barnwell, 89, of Butler Bridge Rd., Fletcher, died Thursday, November 2, 2006.
A native of Henderson Co., Mrs. Barnwell was daughter of the late Jasper and Lillian Dalton Whitaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Gordon Barnwell. She was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Robert Joseph “Joe” Barnwell, of Asheville, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Interment will follow at Tweed’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Robert-I am so sorry that I did not know who you were when we were talking in the Arrowhead lobby. You will always be in my prayers.
