Helen Harper Fisher, 58, of 57 First Street, Asheville, died Monday, November 22, 1999.


A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Redford and Myrtle Owenby Harper. She was a Media Specialist at Glen Arden Elementary
School. She was past president of Fairview Elementary P.T.A.; Co-president of Fairview Athletic Association; a member of Reynolds Booster Club for ten years and a Democrat Registrar in Fairview. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Emma’s Grove Baptist Church for 40 years and a member of Oakley Baptist Church for the past 2 years.


She is survived by her husband, C.R. “Bob” Fisher Sr.; two sons, Ronald R. Fisher and his wife Julie of Greenville, SC, Claude Robert Fisher Jr. and his wife Debra of Greenville, SC.; a sister, Shirley Saunooke and her husband Mike of Fairview; four grandchildren, Harrison, Brooke, Bo and Clare Fisher; uncle Rev. Boyd Owenby and his wife Irene  of Fairview; aunt, Margaret L. Owenby of Boone and a number of loving nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home after which the family will recieve friends.


The service will be conducted by the Revs. Tom Pierce and Boyd Owenby.


Graveside services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery.


The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

    I’m so sorry to hear about your mom. I am going to try to make it on Thursday morning if we can get into town in time.
    Please know that our family will be praying for you. Although Daddy was sick only a short time, we know how difficult these past few years have been for your family. I want you to know that Daddy thought a lot of your mom and always had nice memories to share with us.
