Helen Nina Silver Kanupp, 83, of Asheville, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Lizzie Wilson and A.L. Silver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Kanupp, who died in 2008 and twelve brothers and sisters. Mrs. Kanupp was a member of Trinity of Fairview Church since 1957. She is survived by four sons, Jim Kanupp and his wife Sandy, Rick Kanupp and his wife Vickie, Harold Kanupp and his wife Nancy and Dennis Kanupp and his wife Murphy; thirteen grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband Don, Lisa and her husband Oliver, Wendy and her husband Brad, Jason, Joseph and his wife Ann, Jamey and Kim, Melanie, Ryan and his wife Heather, Lauren and Ron, Lindsey and Josh, Sydney, Trae and Parker; eleven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Wyatt, Taylor, Hayden, Lilly, Frank, Aiden, Leigha, Jacob and Will, as well as three more great-grandchildren on the way. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 30 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverends Stacey Harris and Judson Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Tweed's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations may be made to Trinity of Fairview, 646 Concord Road, Fletcher, NC 28732.
