Helena Ward Teague, 89, of 957 North Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2006, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals. Mrs. Teague was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Ecton and Anna Smith Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Millard Teague, who died in 1991, and by a great-granddaughter, Holly Noel Maynor. Mrs. Teague retired from Square D and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Vivian Austin and her husband, Don, of Leicester; two sons, William H. ?Bill? Teague and his wife Linda, of Leicester, and J. Ralph Teague and his wife, Elizabeth, of Braselton, GA; a brother, John H. Ward, Sr. of Asheville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Wolfe and Don Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:30 ? 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Vivian and Don Austin, 956 North Turkey Creek Road. Memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Marlene Weaver, 373 North Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, NC 28748.
