Henry H. White, 82, of 274 Charlotte Highway, Asheville, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, in an Asheville hospital.

Mr. White was born in High Point and was a son of the late Henry H. and Clara Hankins White. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Spencer and William White. He was a member of Deep River Quaker Church in High Point.

He began his career as a CPA in Morehead City where he also owned and operated Triple-A Moving and Storage Co. and where he built and operated the Buccaneer Motor Lodge. Later he owned and operated three hotels in Charlotte and one in Asheville as well as being a residential real-estate developer in Asheville. His favorite business, however, was owning and operating a Christmas tree farm in Madison County.

His family include his wife, Lee E. White; three sons, Henry H. White III of Statesville and Thomas White and Spencer White of Asheville; three grandchildren, Savannah, Austin, and Jesse White; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Melvin Witcher of High Point, their children and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Thursday at the Deep River Quaker Church Cemetery, High Point.

His family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and request that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, SC 29650.
