Herbert L. Anson, 64, of 446 Bennett Cove Road, Candler, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Anson was born in New York, NY, and was a son of the late Ralph and Mildred Silver Anson.  He received his degree in Architecture
from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Nova University.  Until his retirement in September, 1998, he was
an architect and the owner of Southeastern Architects and Engineers of Asheville.  He was also a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Anson was a loving husband, devoted father, and good friend, and is survived by his wife, Margie Anson;  two sons, Marc S. Anson of Deerfield Beach, FL and David Scott Anson and his wife Julie of Clayton, NC;  two daughters, Marcy A. Decker of Hollywood, FL and Traci A. Roberts and her husband Mike of Candler;  grandchildren, Alaina and Chad Anson of Deerfield Beach, and
David and Jake Anson of Clayton; and a sister, Linda Pate of Tallahassee, FL.  He will also be greatly missed by his dogs, Gunter, Heidi, Penny and Sammy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Lambert officiating.  Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.

His family will receive friends at the residence and request that memorials be made to the Buncombe County Chapter of the
American Cancer Society, 31 College Place, Building C, Suite 100, Asheville, NC 28801.
