Hilda Capps Griffin, 78, of Sand Hill Rd., died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
A native of Madison Co., she was a daughter of the late Amos and Lottie Hall Capps.
Mrs. Griffin was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She was a long term employee of K-Mart on Patton Ave.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, D.E. Griffin; daughters Sherry Griffin Keyes and Joy Griffin; and a grandson, Dustin Griffin.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, in the Trinity Baptist Church chapel, with the Rev. Dwight Parrish officiating. Her family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Interment will be at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sand Hill Baptist Church, 232 Sand Hill Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

Hilda was a precious gift. What a wonderful job she did with her husband, daughters and grandson.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Hilda, my friend. I enjoyed working with her all those years at K-Mart. She was always so nice to everyone.
