  7. Tom has always been a pleasure to work with and has cheerfully helped me with many related tasks that I have been involved with at NCDC. I’ve worked with Tom for the last 20 years or so and will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to all of his family and those who were close to him.

  8. Our hearts are sad. May God keep you all in his care and may happy memories lift your spirits during this trying time.

  9. We’ve known the Whitehursts since 1979 at Langley AFB in Virginia, then at OL-A and the NOAA National Climatic Data Center in Asheville. I’ve worked with Tom at each of these locations, and there was not a finer person to work with. He will be missed by all. Our prayers are with the family.

  10. With sincere sympathy and may prayers that God will give you His help, His strength, and His hope
    during this time of sorrow.
    Joe and Pat

  12. Dear Debbie
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I know what you are going through and if there is anything I can do please let me know. Tommy was a fine young man and I will miss him. Especially his visits to see his mother.
    Love,
    Uncle Harry

  13. Dad, I miss you so much. You were my hero, my idol, everything I want to grow up to be. I will forever remember all the wisdom you gave me and pass it along to my children. I love you Dad!

  14. Debbie, Josh, all the Whitehurst family….My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of grief. Tom was simply one of the finest human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. I will miss him so much…our morning talks, his words of wisdom over my daily crisis’, his gentle laugh, all of the little things that made him so special. He was such a good & kind man…I’m sure your loss is deep. Please let me know if there is anything at all I can do for you or your family.

  15. I enjoyed Tom’s company very much during my career at NCDC. He impressed me with his healthy living style, especially his training for the half marathon races. He also impressed me with his gentleness and caringness to all people around him. He is missed. -Axel

  16. Tom was one of the kindest, most thoughtful men I have ever known. His ‘computer name’ always showed as TWHITEHU, and that is what a few of us called him for many years. I can vividly see the smile on his face each time I called him by that name. Of course, Tom smiled all the time. Many will miss that smile. Thinking of your family during this difficult time.

  17. Thanks to all that signed the guest book. Your thoughts and support are what pull us through in tough times. Now I hope God allows Debbie, Michael and Josh a peace in knowing that their loved one was respected by so many people.
    David and Sharon
    (brother to Tommy)

  18. Tom was a good friend and coworker for 29 years – first with the Air Force and then with NCDC. We’ve worked closely together on many projects, but the personal loss is even greater than the professional loss. My prayers continue for Debbie and the family.

  19. We got to know Tom about 20 years ago at OL-A and NCDC. Tom was a joy to work with and always had a smile and a kind word to say. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
