Hobert C. Watts, 91, of Pisgah Highway, Candler, died Sunday, June 3, 2012. A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Thomas and Eula Smith Watts. He was also preceded in death by his son, Keith Elijah Watts; sisters Elva Curtis, Grace West, and Georgina Elliott; and brothers Fred Watts, Lane Watts, Rev. Alonzo Watts, Albert T. Watts, Sr., Rev. Berry Watts, and the Rev. Floyd Watts. Mr. Watts was a World War II Veteran. He was a member of the Hominy Valley Independent Church of Candler, NC, and VFW Post #09939. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy Mae Hollifield Watts; a brother, the Rev. Richard Watts of Greenville, SC; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Austin Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    I am so sorry for the earthly loss of your honey. It is so wonderful to know he entered into eternity with the Lord, because of his faith in the Lord and what our Lord and Savior did for us on calvery. I love Uncle Hobert and you so much.

  2. I am positive you will not know who I am but I am the oldest daughter of Robert’s cousiin Wayne Hall (his mother was Mattie Watts). I would just like to offer my condolences and pay the respects to the family. I am so sorry to hear about Robert’s passing. May God bless and keep you during this time of sorrow! I would come to the funeral but from strokes I am legally blind and crippled as well. Again, I am so very sorry to hear that Robert passed.

    You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss seeing Uncle Hobert when I come home to visit but I know that he is waiting in heaven for us to join him.
