Hope Gallaway Lee

Hope Gallaway Lee, 82, died at the home of her daughter in Arden on Monday, October 16, 2000. A native of Malone, NY, Mrs. Lee was the daughter of the late Alfred Gallaway and Sarah Gladys Kerr Gallaway. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, James Story Lee and a sister, Marjorie Blanchet. Mrs. Lee retired as a registered nurse and had formerly served as an executive director of The Westfield-Mountainside Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. She also served as a volunteer for Overlook Hospital, Westfield, NJ. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Westfield, NJ, where she was an active participant in the St. Paul's Quilters. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Andrews of Jacobus, PA, and Nancy Lee Rice of Arden, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, October 23, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Westfield, NJ. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Organ Fund, 414 East Broad St., Westfield, NJ 07090. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of local arrangements.
