Hugh Michael Murphy

Hugh Michael Murphy, 61, of Arden, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016. Mr. Murphy was a native of Peabody, Mass. and the son of the late Eugene and Dorothy Zito Murphy. He was a veteran serving with the U.S. Army and a former mail carrier. He is survived by his wife, Linda Young Murphy; two daughters, Jessica Smith and her husband, Kyle, and Natalie Bickley and her husband, Stetson; a son, Daniel Murphy; two sisters, Delia Boucher and Natalie Jayne Butcher; one brother, Tony Murphy and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 28, 2016 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. Military honors will be provided by the North Carolina National Guard. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
