Inez Tow Wilson, of 47 Forest St., Asheville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals. A Buncombe Co. native, Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of the late Carl and Della Holcombe Tow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Wilson, who died in 1999, and by her daughter, Barbara Jean Wilson, who died in 2000. She was a member of the Business Professional Club of Asheville, and co-founder and first Treasurer of Alzheimer’s Association of Western North Carolina. She was also a licensed activity therapist at the Blue Ridge Center and Appalachian Home. She earned continuing education credits at Duke University. She received special recognition from the Duke University Alzheimer’s Research Department for her work with families of Alzheimer’s victims. She attended UNCA and taught at AB-Tech’s continuing education program. She was a member of the Pocahontas Club, the West Buncombe Old Timers, Class of 1941, and the Golden Girls. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her sisters, Juanita Clark, of Asheville, and Ruth McCarson, of Candler; brother, Bill Towe, of Asheville; special friend, Charlie Radford; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. with the Rev. Dr. Buddy Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801, or to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 531 Haywood Rd., Asheville, NC, 28806.

  2. Dear Ms. Wilson, i was so saddened to hear that you had passed. Thanks, for being the voice for so many who had no voices even if they were heard.
