Irene Amelia Miller Spencer

Irene, without trying, would light up a gathering, large or small. Her laughter and enthusiasm was contagious. She was curious and creative. No challenge was too tough for her, once she decided to champion the challenge. She loved her family deeply and spoke of her children, grandchildren, sister, nieces and others with gratitude and pride. Irene made every outing (which she often turned into a shopping opportunity) a fun and exciting experience. She loved to sing and dance and encouraged others to participate. Irene reminded us how to laugh at ourselves and to bounce back from the small stuff that isn’t worth worrying about. Instead of becoming bitter because of obstacles beyond her control, she chose to use those challenges to become a better and deeper person. Irene was a true friend and I will remember and appreciate her always. Thanks so much for allowing her to be part of our Arbor Terrace family.
