Irene Nicholson Rudisill

Irene Nicholson Rudisill, 96, of 1056 Haywood Road, Asheville, died
Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998 at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County she was the daughter of the late G. Paul
and Maude Parrott Nicholson and wife of the late Herbert E. Rudisill, who
died in 1990. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J. Earle
Nicholson and J. Carl Nicholson.
She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a
graduate of Greensboro Woman's College and received her Masters
Degree from Western Carolina University. She was a teacher for 48 years
in the Buncombe County school system, teaching at Dillingham,
Barnardsville, Venable, Woodfin, Reynolds, Erwin and retiring from Enka
High School where she was also a guidance counselor.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Georgia Nicholson of Asheville;
nephews, Earl and Mary Nicholson of Candler, George Nicholson of
Asheville, John and Rebecca Nicholson of Swannanoa and Jack and Betty
Nicholson of Asheville.
Graveside services will be held 11 am Friday in Green Hills Cemetery
conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert Peurifoy.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 pm Thursday at Groce
Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of
Georgia Nicholson, 5 Redfern Street.
