Asheville – Gussie Irene Presley, 94, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek.
A native of Buncombe County, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Stepp Presley. Irene was preceded in death by two sisters, Celestine Rhodarmer and Louise Hudgins and by two brothers, George and Lane Presley. She was employed with the American Enka Corporation for over thirty-five years and was a lifelong member of Calvary Episcopal Church. She had been a resident of the Oaks of Sweeten Creek since 2009.
Irene is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Irene will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Calvary Episcopal Church with the Reverend Victor Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is in charge of arrangements.

The three sisters are together again. Let all tears be of happiness for them, and not those of sadness. Irene, Celestine, Louise, we all are better because you came our way. Until we join you, truly rest in peace.
