Ivan Gayheart, 87, of 107 Stradley Mountain Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at his home.
A native of Hazard, KY, he was a son of the late Balis and Rachel Combs Gayheart. He was also preceded in death by his wife Joan Price Gayheart who died in 1988. Mr. Gayheart was retired from American Enka since 1977 and attended Sardis United Methodist Church. He was a US Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry Robinson and her husband Beauford of Leicester; three sons, Rocky Gayheart and David Gayheart, both of Asheville, and Phil Gayheart of Alexander.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Bill Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
