Jack Crofford Clontz Arden ~ Jack Crofford Clontz, 76, of Arden, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Thomas Crofford Clontz and Myrtle Catherine Pressley Clontz. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Lee "Bobo" Gosnell and Dorothy "Dot" Louise Frady. Jack is survived by one daughter, Catherine Lunsford and her husband, Bobby; granddaughters, Tiffany Effler and her husband Brandon and Trulena Hutchens; special nephew, Benny Frady and his wife Carolyn; three great-grandsons, Logan, Bradley and Peyton; two sisters, Peggy Jane Smith and Tommy Ann Ledbetter; Jack's girlfriend of 32 years, Vaughtie Maria Rice and her daughter, Lisa Harrell; two step great-grandsons; three step great-granddaughters; special friend, Patricia Cody; Logan and Bradley's father, Nathanial "Nate" Hensley and many nieces and nephews. Jack worked many jobs during his lifetime, most recently in residential carpentry. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, small engine repair and spending time with his family. A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 22 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with Reverend Cecil Robinson officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated, but for those who choose, memorial donations may be made in Jack's name to the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.

  4. Daddy Its only been 4 days since you left me but it feels like eternity. You were so strong and put up a good fight. You never gave up and for that I’m greatful. You were an amazing daddy I’m so glad I was the lucky one that got to call you daddy. Just know that i miss you so much and I love you beyond measure. R.I.P. and know that this is not goodbye it’s only for a little while. I will see you in Heaven. I love you!!!
