I feel so very thankful to have known Jack and to have had the opportunity to visit with him this last Fall. We should all be so blessed as Jack was; to have such a long, full life with such a wonderful family. He will be missed by all. My deepest sympathies.
Dear Jesse and Children,
I remember when the Stewart family moved to Candler and joined Glady Baptist Church. What a welcome addition to our church and community! You have always been such good neighbors and friends…always of a gentle spirit, kind, loving, tender-hearted, true Christians. This was the the essence of Jack’s character, and you were all wise to use his life as an example for yours.
I know that Jesus, my parents Merlin and Ruby Plemmons, and many others who have left us for that distant shore, have already welcomed their good friend Jack to his new heavenly home. He is now safely home and will be waiting for his loved ones to join him. Let’s meet him there.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
Dear Jessie,
We were so sorry to hear of your loss and of the loss of my ‘tombstone buddy’. I will surely miss him at our reunions but our loss is Heaven’s gain. You are and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.
Dear Jessie and Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. You are such a special part of my extended family. I did not meet you until 1992 at Jessie’s 50th class reunion in Bryson City at the Nantahala Inn. I attended with my mother, Louise, a classmate of Jessie’s. We became instant friends and Mom renewed wonderful childhood friendships. Thank you for making me feel so special and a part of your Almond High School and Bryson City family.
Jack was such a delight and loved the class reunions each Memorial Day weekend. They brought him such pleasure and he was always a joy. He will be sorely missed.
Thank you for all the phone calls, cards, letters, and visits over the years. Jack and Jessie will always hold special places in the Hogsed family hearts. Some ties can never be broken.
God bless each of you!
In sympathy and love,
Don Hogsed
So sad, but so many fond memories. I grew up in Robbinsville. My brother Jay Johnson went with Jack & Jessie to get married in Ga. I was friends with Helen, Mildred & Jean. My thoughts & prayers are with you. Anna Ruthe
We did not know about Jack’s death until the Sunday following. I always was delighted to see Jack – and he was always glad to see family. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
When I was a child Jack and Jessie, uncle Wash and Aunt Grace were the kindest people I ever knew. They were such gentle people and I loved them dearly.
