Jackie Branton, 91, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Branton was born February 23, 1930, in Buncombe County to the late Cling and Elsie King Branton. He was a US Army veteran, the owner and operator of his plumbing business and was a member of Redmon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Jean Shaft Branton; daughters, Pam Carroll (Robin), Sheron Branton, Cindy Branton, and Tammy Brown (Charlie); six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, J.C. Branton. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Branton.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

    Deepest condolences to all the family on the loss of Jack. He was a good man in every way. He took care of my mother’s plumbing needs for many year, always responding when there was a need. She always held Jack in high regard as did all our family. May the Lord give you all His peace and grace during this time.
