Jacqueline Foster Brackett

Jacqueline Foster Brackett, 88, of Asheville, NC, died Thursday, April 18, 2013. Jackie walked with and served her Lord her entire life, and her spirit has been lifted up into the arms of her heavenly Father. A native of Asheville, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Elva Foster. Jackie was a life-long member of Haywood Street Methodist Church. Her professional career included positions at Imperial Life Insurance Co., and Western-Southern Life as well as the Asheville District Office of the United Methodist Church. Before retiring, Mrs. Brackett was employed as secretary at Haywood Street for 10 years. Mrs. Brackett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brackett Jr., and a brother, Johnny Foster. She is survived by her brother, Morgan Foster and his wife, Pat of Waxhaw, NC, sisters Betty Dillingham of Mountain Home, and Cynthia Edwards and her husband Doug, of Dallas, TX, niece Sabre Foster, of Matthews, NC, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Julian chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dot Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park in Candler. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
