Jacqueline "Jackie" Lois Cramer, of Swannanoa, North Carolina, passed away May 3rd, 2017 in Asheville, North Carolina after a courageous battle with cancer. There will be a memorial service for her in June 2017 in the Asheville, North Carolina area. Jackie was born in Utica, New York to Joseph and Teresa Tomaino on July 9, 1939. She went to high school at Proctor High School and graduated in 1957. She went on to earn a degree in Education and a teaching certificate from Potsdam University in upstate New York. Jackie had a passion for helping others and enjoyed over the years, no matter where she lived, teaching special needs children and later continuing adult education. Jackie enjoyed a very fulfilling life and was fortunate to live and experience many different cultures around the world. Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Teresa Tomaino. Jackie is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Cramer of Swannanoa, North, Carolina, son Ron (Loni) Cramer of Ft Collins, Colorado; son Steve (Jill) Cramer of Inverness, Illinois; her grandson Garret Cramer, and her sisters Deloris (Tony) Mastrino of Tampa, Florida and Carol (Ev) Greenwood of Augusta, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 9949, Washington, DC 20004 or Solace Hospice in Asheville, North Carolina. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mission Health system members and especially the Cancer Care group for all of their care and love over the years and Solace Hospice for their support in her final days. Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
