James A. Israel, 76, of
4613 Pine Needle Lane, Wilson, NC,
died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at his
home.
Mr. Israel was born
September 26, 1924, in Buncombe
County to the late Marcel and Emma
Skelly Israel. He was a Navy veteran
of WW II and was a retired
maintenance supervisor with Dupont
in Kinston, NC. He was a member of
Winstead United Methodist Church,
Wilson.
He is survived by his wife,
Marie Wright Israel; one son, Fred A.
Israel and his wife Lynn T. Israel of
Wilson; one brother, John Edward
Israel of Newport News, VA; and
three grandchildren, Shane and Cam
Israel and Ashley Pope.
Graveside services will be
at 11:00 am Friday at Snow Hill
United Methodist Church Cemetery,
Candler with the Rev. Neil Haynes officiating..
His family will receive
friends at the cemetery following the
service and at other times will be at
19 Emmas Cove Road, Candler.
In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to Snow Hill
United Methodist Church, 84 Snow
Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715.
Groce Funeral Home on
Patton Avenue is in charge of the
arrangements.
