James Elmer McDowell

A native of Washington DC, he was the son of the late Jeter Elmer McDowell, Jr. and Claudia E. Mallard McDowell.
He was a member of the Cathedral of All Souls and was an employee of Ingles Grocery at South Forest.
He is survived by his sister, Linda M. McDowell of Woodfin, his brother, Gary C. McDowell of Leicester and his former wife, Kay Pritchard of Asheville.
A service will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Owen. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Tuesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
