James Goldman Boone, 86, of Candler, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at his home.
A native of Madison Co., he was a son of the late Earnest and Emma Howell Boone. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ray Boone.
Mr. Boone was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Anderson of the home, and Denise McClure of GA; 3 grandchildren; a sister, JoAnn Green of Candler; and a brother, Lester Boone of Mars Hill.
Funeral services for Mr. Boone will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lower English Cemetery in Wolfe Laurel.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
