Mills River- James Herbert King, 66, of North Mills River Road, died Saturday at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville.

A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late John Lee and Ethel Marie Hart King. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Adams. He was an employee of Eliada Home for Children for a number of years and attended Arden Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Imajean Huntsinger King; a daughter, Sandra Messer and her husband Jerry of Horse Shoe; two sons, Michael James King and his children, Natasha and Justin, of Asheville and Bryan Eugene King, his wife Susan and their children, Breanna, Amber and Chloe, of Hendersonville; two sisters, Wilma Lee Flynn of Hendersonville and Betty Williams of Asheville and a brother, Bobby King of Asheville. “Our loss is Heaven’s gain”.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Arden Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Bell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 pm at Groce Funeral, Lake Julian.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Elizabeth House of Hendersonville for all their kindness.
