James “Jim” Addison Cathcart, 82, of Asheville, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021.
A native of Cabarrus Co., NC, James was a son of the late Bonnie Lee Cathcart and Eva Grooms Cathcart. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Vicky Frank.
Mr. Cathcart was an electrical engineer with BASF, a Fire Chief with the Enka Fire Department, and was also a home builder.
Surviving is his wife, Heather Worley Cathcart; daughters, Kriston Cathcart and Kayla Cathcart; sons, Greg Cathcart (Cyndy) and Stephen Cathcart (Angie); step-son, Keith Worley; and grandchildren, Dakota Cathcart, Miranda Boone, Easton Shaw, T.J. Carter, Patrick Frank, and Lindsay Lewis.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Fairmont Baptist Church, 36 Surrett Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
