James "Jim" Willard Clark

Asheville ~ James “Jim” Willard Clark, 91, of Asheville, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at his residence.
A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Robert and Leura Fox Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vena Morris Clark; three sisters, Fushia Glass, Eva Munford and Martha Frazier and one brother, Clyde Clark.
A member of the Black Mountain Masonic Lodge #663, Jim was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason as well as an Oasis Temple Shriner. He proudly served in the United States Army during WW II in Okinawa and Korea
.
He is survived by one daughter, Donna Clark Coggins (Jeffrey) of Fletcher; one son, Douglas Morris Clark (Jane) of Arden; three grandchildren, Robert S. Clark, Rebecca S. Clark and Mackenzie P. Coggins; a brother in law, Jimmy C. Morris of Marion as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00-4:00 PM. A Graveside Service with Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 4 in the Chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org).
My prayers are that you find great comfort in knowing your loved one would say to you, ‘ oh my YOU can only imagine what I see now.’ Jane and family I will keep you all in my prayers in the days ahead. Gods Grace will get you thru.
Donna – I am so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. My grandfather was an Oasis Temple Shriner as well. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
