James Lawrence Morgan, 80, of 50 Nebraska Avenue, Asheville, died Thursday, August 19, 2004. Mr. Morgan was born in Henderson County and was a son of the late Lee and Ella Cox Morgan. He was an Army veteran and was a retired driver for Blue Ridge Trucking Co. He is survived by his wife Helen Cairnes Morgan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald N. Welborn officiating. Burial will be at Shepherd Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
