James Marion Lane, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
A native of Buncombe Co., James was a son of the late Eugene and Lois Worley Lane.
In his spare time, James loved fishing, hunting, clogging and square dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Hughes Lane; daughters, Melanie Smith (David) and Freda Smith (Tim); grandchildren, Matthew Scroggs, Selena Roby and Cliff Roby; brother, Mark Lane; and many other family members.
His family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, at the Groce Funeral Home chapel on Patton Ave. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ricky Wolfe, will immediately follow. Interment will then take place at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
