James Med Williams, 92, of 119 Whitney Drive, formerly of Selwyn Road, Asheville, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mr. Williams was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late A.M. and Ellen Joyce Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Cagle Williams, who died in 1986, and by five brothers and six sisters. He was retired from American Enka and was a member of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church. He is survived by one daughter, Judy Clark and her husband Jim of Asheville; two sons, James M. Williams, Jr. and his wife Jan of Marietta, GA and George Thompson and his wife Judy of Asheville; a sister, Ethel McDonald of Candler; a brother Paul Williams of Candler; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Nieting officiating. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813, or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Vision 2010, 51 Wilburn Place, Asheville, NC 28806.

  4. I loved Med and I will miss him alot. I will always cherish when I was little and I would wait everyday for him to bring me ice cream. Bless everyone in the Family and I love you all very much.

  5. Sure sorry to hear of Med’s passing. I always thought the world of him. My mother just passed away on the 12th. They were the same age.

  6. Bill and I will miss visiting with Med. It will not be the same when we will go and stay with Jim and Judy.

    He may be gone, but he is not forgotten.
