James Norman Mann, 47, passed away on July 2, 2022. He was born in Buncombe County to the late Thomas Mann, Sr. and Carol Melton Greer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tonia Mann; two brothers; Thomas Mann, Jr. and Eric Greer; a sister; Amanda Frisbee. He is also survived by his “Pop” Russell Greer.

Mr. Mann worked as an Electrician for Grigg Electric for 22 years. They nicknamed him “Hoopty” because of the Cordova he drove. He rode BMX Bikes and loved it. He rode with Dave Mirra once and he was in the newspaper. He was an avid Hot Wheels collector. John Lee from News13 interviewed him once about his collection. He loved vans, loud music and knew how to make people smile. His most recent passion was RC Cars and making YouTube videos. He will be truly missed by the people who knew the great man he could be.

A funeral service will be held at a later date.

Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road is assisting the family.
