James Patrick O'Hara

James Patrick O’Hara, 81, of 583 North Louisiana Avenue, Asheville, died Sunday, October 20, 2002, at the VA Medical Center. Mr. O’Hara was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a son of the late Dennis and Bessie Rooney O’Hara. He was an Army veteran of WW II and had lived in Buncombe County for 30 years. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy M. O’Hara and one son Dennis W. O’Hara, both of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Sister Mary Gerard of Brentwood, NY and Catherine Burkhardt of Terrytown, NY; one brother, Brandon O’Hara of Long Island, NY; and by his caregiver, Mary Johnston of Asheville. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel with the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team providing military honors. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
