James Paul Harris

James Paul Harris, 79, of 200 Vista Lake Drive, Candler, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Harris was a native of Hohenwald, TN, and was a son of the late William Arthur and Lillie Mae Churchill Harris. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Harris; two children, Theresa Yvonne Harris and Billy Rae Harris; four brothers, Malcomb B. Harris, Charles Woodrow Harris, Jessie Harris, and Billy Harris, and two sisters, Mary Harris Hohrman and Mable Pauline Harris Tibbs.
Mr. Harris served in US Army during WW II and worked for 35 years as a supervisor pipe fitter/welder with Power Process Piping in Detroit, MI. He retired to Asheville in 1988 and was a member and former deacon at Trinity Baptist Church.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, and is survived by his wife, Mary Pearl Harris; two sons, James Clark Harris of Nashville, TN and Gregory Paul Harris of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Wanda Faye Jenkins of Nashville and Sharon (Kim) Harris Malotky of Temperance, MI; two step-sons, Roger Dale Banks of Glendale, AZ and Michael Anthony Banks of Grosse Ile, MI; one brother, Franklin D. Harris of Hohenwald, TN; two sisters, Mae Willodean Brilinski of Clarksburg, OH and Clara Bell Henson of Hohenwald; eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry Young, Davis Plemmons, and Milton Hollifield officiating. Interment with military honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council at Green Hills Cemetery.
His family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
