James Samuel Calloway, 61, of 5 Stoney Knob Heights, Weaverville, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, in an Asheville hospital.
Mr. Calloway was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Walter Calloway and Dora Lance Calloway Parker. He was retired from APAC Paving Company and attended Mt. Sheba Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Hart Calloway; two daughters,
Patti Flowers of Covington, GA and
Samantha Hart of the home; six
sons, James Calloway of Canton, Tim
Calloway of Asheville, Douglas
Turbyfill of Canton, Dale Turbyfill of Weaverville, Chris Hart of Waynesville and David Polston of High Point; four sisters, Ann Medford of Old Fort, and Ruth Calloway, Kathy Medcalf, and Suzy Breedlove of Weaverville; two brothers, Philip
Parker of Newton and Bill Parker of
Marshall, and thirteen grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Rhinehart
officiating.
His family will receive friends immediately following the
service and request that memorials
be made to the family, in care of Kay H. Calloway, 5 Stoney Knob Heights, Weaverville, NC 28787.
