James W. Bailey, Sr.

James W. Bailey, Sr. 92, died peacefully July 11, 2015, at The Laurels of Hendersonville.

A native of Asheville, he was born on October 13, 1923, and was a graduate of Asheville High School and Furman University. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a transport pilot in WW II and Korea. After years in an aviation career, Bill returned to Asheville where he worked in real estate acquisitions. He loved to fly and play golf with a special fondness of driving a golf cart.

He is survived by his two children, James W. Bailey, Jr. and Diane K Coffman; 5 grandchildren, Steven, Joel, Stacey, Dervin, and Steffanie; and 9 great grandchildren.

Joint graveside services for James W. Bailey, Sr. and Ann Crocker will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Green Hills Cemetery with Pastor Allen Rash officiating.
